Eating Out – Agios Stefanos (NE)
Agios Stefanos can be reached by car by taking the turning off of the main Kassiopi to Kalami road, sign posted to Ag. Stefanos from Sinies. Just follow the road to its conclusion.
Agios Stefanos is situated in a beautiful bay on the north east coast of Corfu. The expanse of open water between here and Albania is quite narrow and the sight of some of the larger vessels passing by the bay is quite awe inspiring. Visitors to this picturesque location should be aware that Ag. Stefanos caters for those prepared to spend a little extra! (I think that is putting it politely!) Don’t be put off though! It is worth the visit.
Wherever you choose to eat, you won’t be disappointed. We have chosen to highlight just one taverna for the simple reason that we believe that its location on the northern side of the bay gives a more complete view of the bay unlike those situated on the front where you tend to look straight out to sea. The food is pretty good too!

Situated on the northern side of this extremely popular bay, ‘The Eucalyptus’ provides a varied and slightly different menu to your usual beach-side taverna. It is family run and along with the many twists on old favourite dishes, you will find an extensive selection of fresh fish from which you can make your choice. Be warned! lobster is not cheap anywhere!
The knowledgeable staff will readily assist with suggestions for those perhaps not sure of some of the fish on offer.
One of the specialities served daily is the ‘Fire Prawns’. Essentially, this is king prawns on a bed of spiced rice. It is delicious! There will almost certainly be a different daily chef’s suggested menu which invariably represents excellent value.
In spite our comments about Agios Stefanos not being the cheapest place on the island, we don’t consider the menu at the Eucalyptus to be over inflated.
This is an ideal place to stop for a meal if you call into the bay either by car or boat.
