As a potential future migrant to the Med from England myself, I have found your experiences of moving to Corfu interesting. I am thinking about moving to the south coast of France near Menton with my Girlfriend, but we have not decided yet. I don't think we will need
visa permits but I'm not sure. Anyway, always interesting to hear of similar examples. Thanks

were vising corfu in a few days to see if it is feasable to move out and live in corfu town with our family within the year
Are there any ex pats that could give us advice?

Hallo,wir waren für 14 Tage auf Korfu.Es war wunderschön,wir haben die wundervolle Insel mit dem Roller erkundet...war super!Aber das Schönste war,als wir die tolle Taverne inmitten der Wildnis gefunden haben.Dort wurden wir bewirtet,wie noch nirgens auf der Welt,wir waren keine Gäste der Taverne,sondern Freunde,die wirklich willkommen waren........
Geht hin und lasst Euch einfach von Vasiili überraschen und grüßt schön von uns aus Itzehoe.

I came upon your beautiful website "accidently", using google-alerts on the word "corfu". Have just spent some time reading your posts and must admit ...how terribly jealous I am! have been to corfu many many time starting way back in 1970...but the dream of living there has ( not jet?) not come true. I am German, living in Athens with family and the whole thing that makes normal "everyday-life" go round. I wondered if you might be interested in having some photos of corfu 40 years ago? We mostly spent our summers in Agios Stefanos NW, and Agios Mathaeos. Congratulations on your site and Greetings from Athens! Anne Dourou

Hi again! you was so helpful with your last reply i was hoping i could pick your brain again? :)
We are hoping to come out next year to start our adventure in corfu, and everything i have read it seem as easy as just arriving and renting somewhere? do we need to apply for anything? i know we are EU so do not need a visa, but that part seems quite easy! When we come out we are going to get a one way package holiday so we have somewhere to live whilst we sort rental out and jobs. We are planning on living on the island even in low season too. We are vivisting in september this year and hope to do a lot of reasearch/work then.
When we rent does it work on the same aspect as uk? i.e month deposit? what are the bills approx per month?

Your website is amazing! So informal, myself and my partner are hoping to move to corfu early next year. He is a mechanic and i work in healthcare, but i do not speak greek so i feel i may struggle, but we are willing to do anything! (within reason!) Does anyone know of how the mechanic trade is over there?

We have recently agreed a year's rental with a couple who own a home in Loutses. We are fortunate enough to be able to spend the next 12 months in Corfu as we run an internet business, which means as long as we have an internet connection, we can pretty much live anywhere. Please could you tell me if you aware of any internet problems within this area. We noticed that you are close by and wondered what your experience of broadband connection there is and how easy it is to obtain. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
